Photography Exhibition

Light at the end of the Tunnel

Artwork from a short photography course, sponsored by GTR and organised by St Albans Arts Team, has been on display at the signal box. Produced by HACRO* participants, the course focussed on the St Albans South Signal Box and the adjacent Midland mainline.

A gallery of over 30 images was produced by the nine particpants and can now be seen on-line.  Details of the project, the organisations and where to see the work are also given:  Click the banner above:

WHAT'S NEW:

The St Albans SignalBox Preservation Trust regrets to announce the death of Mr Les O'Leary on the 9th January, 2025. He was one of two of our present trustees who had been involved in setting up the Trust in 2003 and had served as a trustee ever since then. He was our 'Webmaster' and over the years made many practical contributions to work on and off site. He is seen here facing the camera while helping to remove a lamppost from storage to the box.

A final report on our activities in 2024 is at news of 2024 - it includes photos of work to extend the garden railway as well as information on visitor numbers during the year.
